AB - Auditory profile is a term that has relatively appeared in the recent past and is used to denote a set of different personal psychophysiological characteristics of receiving, transmitting, processing, and manipulating sound information. The basic idea of creating an auditory profile is to gather as much information as possible about the various components of hearing that are later analyzed and then presented through one comprehensive presentation in the form of a report. The auditory profile can be done with people of different ages (children, adults) and people with various disabilities and disorders. The focus is on the analysis of functions, in this case of hearing, and not the disabilities or disorder itself. The purpose of the formulation of the auditory profile is the completion of the clinical evaluation of the condition of children or adults in need of hearing, speech, and language rehabilitation. Different techniques, methods, tests, and questionnaires are used in creating an auditory profile. The choice of what will be used depends on how well the examined child or adult can respond to the requirements of these instruments. This study aimed to present a protocol for the creating of the auditory profile in children at the earliest age with various developmental disabilities and disorders. This protocol was developed in collaboration with a specialist in hearing disabilities and disorders and speech and language pathologists its effectiveness and usability have been tested in children with various types of disorders. So far, based on the author's experience, it can be concluded that this protocol and the formation of the auditory profile represent a significant contribution to hearing, speech, and language therapy practice.

AB - Introduction/Objective Tonsillitis is a very common condition found in the pediatric population but also in adult patients. One of the consequences of such conditions is poor voice quality. Hoarseness, poor voice impostation, interruption, and hypernazalization are just some of the differences in patient voice quality. The objective of this paper was to examine the effects of tonsillectomy on the voice quality. Methods the sample included 37 patients, 17 female and 20 male, ranging in age 3-39 years. The method involved recording patients one month before and one month after tonsillectomy with a digital sound recorder, with recordings analyzed in the Praat program. The variables monitored in the basic voice were as follows: voice pitch, standard deviation of voice, degree of voice interruption, jitter, shimmer, and signal-to-noise ratio. In the statistical analysis, in addition to standard descriptive analyzes, t-test and ACNOVA were also used. Results the results showed that there are effects of tonsillectomy on standard deviation of baseline voice (p = 0.002), shimmer (p = 0.002), baseline voice interruption rate (p = 0.023), signal to noise ratio (p = 0.003). There were no differences in the effects of tonsillectomy with respect to the sex of the subjects. Conclusion Based on the conducted research, there were some methodological conclusions that could be considered as a recommendation for future research: increase the number of persons in the sample, introduce a variable of chronological age, type of surgical intervention, and gradation of size of the tonsil and adenoid tissue.

AB - This paper analyses the middle values of tone-hearing threshold and speech detection threshold in the left and right ear among children with speech and language disorders (n = 60) and among children with normal speech and language development (n = 30). The sample included children of both genders between the ages of 5 and 7. Tone-hearing threshold testing was performed using Maico tonal audiometer, and speech detection threshold testing was done using KSAFA-m device. The results showed that the children with speech and language disorders have a somewhat better hearing threshold in the left ear compared with the right, but this result was not statistically significant. Contrary to this result, a statistically significant superiority of the right ear related to the hearing threshold at the frequencies of 0,125 kHz and 4 kHz was noted among the children with normal speech and language development. A statistically significant superiority of the left ear related to the speech detection threshold at 0,125 kHz was noted among the children with speech and language disorders. A slight superiority of the left ear was noted among the children with normal speech and language development, but without statistical significance. Comparison of asymmetry results between left and right ear (hearing threshold in the left and right ears) showed that the children with normal speech and language development have statistically more significant asymmetry than the children with speech and language disorders at 0,125kHz, 4kHz, 6kHz when considering the overall results. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the children with speech and language disorders in comparison to the children with normal speech and language development: have worse tone-hearing threshold and speech detection threshold in both left and right ear, show better results in the left ear and have less pronounced asymmetry of the left and right ear in hearing threshold.

AB - Specific language disorders (developmental dysphasia) belong to the group of developmental disorders with specific pathological patterns, which do not appear in any stadium of a typical lingual development. It appears with children of relatively normal social development, good hearing, and preserved intellectual and emotional functions. Many practitioners see that dysphasic children have difficulties in keeping verbal information. Research proves these observations. Children with language disorders have worse achievements in short-term remembering tasks and work remembering tasks then children of a typical development. The aim of this paper is studying particularities of direct and postponed verbal remembering of pre schoolchildren with developmental dysphasia. The research included 20 children with dysphasia age 5 to 7 and 30 children of typical speech development of the same age. We used the test for examining verbal remembering. Direct and postponed verbal remembering was studied. The test for examining verbal remembering was used. Immediate and postponed verbal remembering were studies. Based on the results of the research of verbal remembering, we proved that children with developmental dysphasia have worse ability of immediate and postponed verbal remembering in comparison to children of typical sppech0linbgual development.

AB - Verbal memory depends on the quality of speech perception and
development of linguistic structures depends on verbal memory.
These facts point to a closed circuit of cause and effect sufficiently
well-developed speech and language in children with language disorders.
For the smooth progress of speech perception, good condition
and functions of all parts of the auditory system is necessary. Damage
or dysfunction in any part of the auditory system can lead to disorders
of speech perception, which affects the state of verbal memory, from
which follows the occurrence of different disorders in verbal communication.
The aim of this research is to investigate the impact of
quality of speech perception on verbal memory in children with
developmental dysphasia. The study included 20 children with
developmental dysphasia (experimental group),aged from 5 to 7 years
and 30 children with normal speech and language development of the
same age (control group). To evaluate the quality of speech perception
in children in the experimental and control groups was used the
technique of speech audiometry with the use of specially designed
word lists (Plecevic, Djokovic, 1997),and for the evaluation of verbal
memory was used test to examine immediate and delayed verbal
memory (S. Vladisavljeviæ, 1983). By analyzing the results of our
research we found that children with developmental dysphasia
showed significantly worse results, or worse ability to retain verbal
content compared to children with regular speech and language
development. Children with developmental dysphasia need a higher
intensity of the speech signal in order to properly reproduce presented
words compared to children with normal speech and language
development. We determined the influence of quality of speech perception
on verbal memory in children with developmental dysphasia,
enabling the identification of new regularities and correlations of
quality of speech perception and verbal memory.
