Abstract
Cerebral palsy is almost always accompanied by speech disorders, which are manifested at an early age as delayed speech, while in the case of definitive clinical forms, they are manifested as different types of speech disorders. Speech disorders are associated with neuromuscular deficits, sensory impairments, intellectual disability, lack of verbal stimulation or limited verbal stimulation during early period of childhood. This study presents the characteristics of speech disorders in youth with cerebral palsy. We analyzed the quality of articulation, voice quality and speech intelligibility. Results have shown that speech disorders are in correlation with the type of cerebral palsy.
