Co-teaching of students with autism
Kooperativno podučavanje učenika sa autizmom
Abstract
Co-teaching of students with autism is an innovative practice in which general education teacher and special educator share their responsibilities for classroom management and instructions. Both of them should be prepared to co-teach increasing number of students with autism spectrum disorder in inclusive settings. The objective of this paper was to review the literature and current knowledge regarding effectiveness of collaborative teaching of students with autism. It was revealed that most studies dealing with this topic have focused on professional competences and relationships between two teachers, rather than on effectiveness of co-teaching itself. .
