FM systems: Support for hard of hearing children
FM sistemi kao podrška nagluvoj deci
Abstract
FM Systems represent wireless communication technology which is used in public places in order to overcome problem of communication due to the distance of the speaker and his collocutor or because of the effects of noise. The objective of this paper is to present FM Systems, its characteristics and modality of usage, as well as its advantages provided in classroom, school environment, home and other environments. FM Systems are not only intended for school children, they are also used with preschool children, as well as with adult hearing impaired persons. Besides school, where students with the help of the FM Systems can hear the teacher more clearly even from greater distance and in noisy conditions, this means can be used in other places as well. In the house, it helps the child to hear better when talking with his parents and other family members. Also, the student can use those Systems in the speech rehabilitation, using a microphone one can hear one’s speech and correct it. Due t...o the effects of noise which creates unfavorable conditions for hearing, the FM Systems can be used in typical schools, among the children of general population, and the research results showed improvement as regards the speech perception, academic achievements and student behavior, especially at the lower school age.
FM sistemi predstavljaju bežičnu komunikacionu tehnologiju koja se koristi na javnim mestima kako bi se prevazišao problem u komunikaciji nastao usled udaljenosti govornika i sagovornika ili zbog delovanja buke. Cilj ovog rada je da se prikažu FM sistemi, karakteristike i načini korišćenja, kao i rezultati istraživanja o uslovima slušanja podržanim FM sistemima među nagluvim učenicima i učenicima opšte populacije. FM sistemi nisu namenjeni samo deci školskog uzrasta, koriste se i kod dece predškolskog uzrasta, kao i kod odraslih nagluvih osoba. Pored škole, gde učenici uz pomoć FM sistema mogu jasnije da čuju nastavnika i sa veće udaljenosti i u buci, ovo sredstvo moguće je koristiti i na drugim mestima. U kući, pomaže detetu da bolje čuje kada razgovara sa roditeljima i sa ostalim ukućanima. Takođe, učenik može da koristi ove sisteme u rehabilitaciji govora, koristeći mikrofon može da čuje svoj govor i da ga koriguje. Zbog delovanja buke koja stvara nepovoljne uslove za slušanje, FM s...istemi se mogu koristiti u tipičnim školama, među decom opšte populacije, a rezultati istraživanja su pokazali poboljšanje u pogledu percepcije govora, akademskog postignuća i ponašanja učenika, naročito na nižem školskom uzrastu. .
