The styles of learning preferred by the students with light mental retardation
Abstract
The focus of this paper is determination of the styles preferred by the high school students with light mental retardation. . Adapted part of the questionnaire Learning Styles Instrument- C.I.T.E. (Babich A.M. et al., 1976) was used for the estimation of the ways of adopting information which identifies five different styles of learning - visual, visual-numerical, additive, additive-numerical and tactile-kinesthetic. The given results did not determine the dominant way of learning but they offer possibilities about the tenancies, particularly using taktical-kinesthetic style. The estimation of the preferred style of learning of persons with light mental retardation in the pedagogical-educational process, can contribute to the creating of the individual ideational programme, method of work and choice of didactical means which will make the process of learning pleasant, adjustable and independent for students.
