Могућност остваривања романтичних веза и испољавање сексуалности представљају значајне аспекте квалитета живота особа са интелектуалном ометеношћу. Прихватање сопствене сексуалности као и уживање у њој могући су ако се испуне одређени услови као што су: информисаност, искуство у интерперсоналним односима, вршење избора, давање сагласности, развој позитивног самопоштовања и правна заштита у случају злостављања. Циљ рада је да се на основу прегледа литературе издвоје и анализирају детерминанте остваривања права на испољавање сексуалности особа са интелектуалном ометеношћу. На основу резултата истраживања обухваћених овим прегледним радом може се закључити да постоје негативни ставови и дискриминација који онемогућавају равноправан живот особа са интелектуалном ометеношћу у заједници. Пружање релевантних информације о специфичностима у области сексуалности особа са интелектуалном ометеношћу и саветовање су неопходни за све оне које учествују у сексуалној едукацији ових особа.
The possibility of realization of romantic relationships and the expression of sexuality represent important aspects of the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities. Acceptance of one's own sexuality, as well as enjoying it, is possible if certain conditions are met, such as: being informed, experience in interpersonal relationships, making choices, giving consent, development of positive self-respect, and legal protection in case of abuse. The aim of the paper is to extract and analyze, based on the review of the literature, the determinants of exercising the right to express sexuality of persons with intellectual disabilities. Based on the research results included in this review, it can be concluded that there are negative attitudes and discrimination that prevent the equal life of people with intellectual disabilities in the community. Provision of relevant information on the specifics in the field of sexuality of persons with intellectual disabilities and counselin...g are necessary for all those who participate in the sexual education of these persons.
