| sr |
dc.description.abstract | Articulation is important during everyday speech to every individual in the world. In this way, people distinguish between words and concepts in communication. With proper articulation, people establish quality communication and the message between the speaker and the interlocutor is conveyed in the appropriate shape and form. The population of deaf and hard of hearing children also establishes spoken communication in addition to sign language, mimicry and typing. Their articulation is specific and unique. That is exactly why their oral speech should be given importance. It is very important that the deaf and hard of hearing child is exposed to hearing and seeing everyday speech during the earliest period of life. By acquiring oral speech alone, a child with hearing impairment can achieve almost the same results during speech as their peers without hearing impairment. There are specific patterns of speech acquisition in young deaf children, namely phonetic rhythmicity and children's play. In an interesting way, deaf children will learn the first sounds, words and sentences in their speech. Also, we should not ignore that deaf and hard of hearing children also use non-verbal means of communication and together with spoken communication they form a unique speech entity. In this way, they convey a complete message to the world. | sr |
