ставова наставника према рачунарима (Teachers' Attitudes Toward Computers Questionere;
Christensen i Knezek, 2009).
In the era of progressive technological development, daily functioning of a person is significantly facilitated. Benefits of technology use in different life domains are most visible in in the daily functioning of people with developmental disabilities. The development of assistive technology (AT), that is, the devices and services used to eliminate the barriers encountered by a person with development disability, indirectly influences the improvement of the quality of life of this people. At the time of educational inclusion AT plays an important role. The application of AT in the school environment makes it easier for student with developmentaal disabilities to adopt academic skills, to socialize, to participate in various activities, but also facilitate adaptation of teaching materials, methods and teaching techniques, means of presentation, encouragement of cooperation between pupils for regular and special education teachers.
Regular/special education teachers’ attitudes have sig...nificant impact on the ability and efficiency of AT implementation in class, but also on students' attitudes towards AT use.
The aim of the research presented in this paper is to examine the attitudes of regular and special education teachers about the use of AT in the education of pupils with developmental disabilities and to determine the connection of these attitudes with certain socio-demographic and other variables.
The survey included 82 respondents, 45 teachers working in primary school and 37 special education teachers working in schools for children with disabilities.
The attitudes of regular and special education teachers were assessed with Teachers'
Attitudes Toward Computers Questioner (Christensen and Knezek, 2009). For the needs of the research, a socio-demographic questionnaire was created for the purpose of gathering data on the gender, age, length of service, the type of school in which the respondent works, the age of children with whom he works, the number of children in the class, the number of children with developmental difficulties, type of difficulties.
The results showed that both teachers and special education teachers have positive attitudes towards the use of AT in education, with teachers having more positive attitudes than special education teachers. The difference is explained by the greater awareness of special education teachers regarding the limitations of assistive technology in the education of children with disabilities. The results showed that teachers' attitudes are associated with working with children with dyslexia. The results also showed that attitudes of special education teachers are related to work with children with severe intellectual disability.
