Abstract
The paper states that high percentage of students who stated that they were victims of some form of victimizing behavior in schools in Serbia emphasizes the need for an adequate response. Over the few last decades, a number of studies have been conducted all over the world on the subject of effectiveness of different types of schoolbased anti-bullying programs and the acquired information should be used in the process of selection and design of future programs. Some studies indicate the very poor effects of these programs, while others point to positive, although modest, effects in combating violent behavior and victimization. Undoubtedly, results can only be expected after intensive and long-term implementation of appropriate measures. In this regard, special attention has been given to the finnish KiVa anti-bullying evidence-based program in order to extract some recommendations for Serbia
