Aphasia is a multimodal language impairment that can affect all of the language modalities: the speech, auditory comprehension, designation, repetition, reading and writing abilities, gesture and linguistic thinking (Vuković, 2016). The aim of this study is to determine Reading aloud and reading comprehension in patients with aphasia. The study enveloped 16 respondents aged from 50 to 75 years. Aphasia was assessed using the Boston Diagnostic Aphasia Examination (BDAE). The study was carried out at the ''Institute for psychophysiological disorders and speech pathology 'PhD Cvetko Brajović' '' in Belgrade. What came after determining the type of aphasia was the data collection for the needs of this study. For the evaluation (assessment) of the reading ability the following tests were used: subtest for oral reading of words, phrases from BDAE, as well as the story “Peasant’s sons“. The results of this study show that people suffering from aphasia can have problems with reading and understanding words and phrases. Also those problems can corelate with type and severity of aphasia.sr
