Residual language deficits in adolescents with traumatic brain injury
Rezidualni jezički deficiti kod adolescenata sa traumatskim oštećenjem mozga
Abstract
Language deficits in adolescents who suffered from severe traumatic brain injury during childhood are presented in this paper. Lexical-semantic abilities, vocabulary, auditory comprehension and reading are analyzed. In addition, assessment of discourse function was done. The results have shown that children with traumatic brain injury in the later stages of the recovery have deficits of formal language structure as well as in the discourse area. Suggestion for special needs during school age of children with brain trauma was done.
U radu su prikazani jezički deficiti kod adolescenata koji su u detinjstvu pretrpeli tešku povredu mozga. Analizirani su leksičko-semantičke sposobnosti, razvijenost vokabulara, sposobnost auditivnog razumevanja i čitanje. Osim toga, vršena je ocena narativnog diksursa. Rezultati su pokazali da deca sa traumatskim oštećenjem mozga u kasnijim fazama oporavka ispoljavaju deficite na planu jezičke strukture i u oblasti narativnog diskursa. Ukazano je na potrebu pružanja specifične podrške deci sa povredom mozga tokom osnovnoškolskog uzrasta.
