Развој идентитета деце глувих родитеља

Abstract

Деца глувих одраслих формирају свој идентитет у заједници Глувих којој припадају њихови родитељи и заједници особа које чују. За децу глувих одраслих

(Children of Deaf Adults) користи се акроним ‘’CODAs’’. Термин ‘’CODA’’ сe односи на било коју особу која чује рођену од једног или два глува родитеља. У заједници Глувих, ова деца се идентификују терминима - знацима у оквиру знаковног

језика „чујући, мама, тата, глув“. Oснoвни циљ рaдa je дa сe прeглeдoм дoступнe литeрaтурe укaжe нa специфичности развоја идентитета деце глувих родитеља и изазове у комуникацији са којима се сусрећу. Примењене су методе анализе релевантне доступне литературе. Деца одрастају у јединственим

околностима

у којима су стално изложена двема културолошки, социјално и језички различитим заједницама, Глувих и чујућих. Ограничена комуникација, конфузија у односима и улогама на релацији родитељ- дете, посредовање у превођењу, нежељена одговорност, неизвесност у погледу личног идентитета може довести до фрустрација. На идентитет деце глувих одраслих утичу различити фактори. Родитељи често не схватају да су њихова деца билингвална

и бикултурална. Деца која чују верују да су глува, јер у породици употребљавају

знаковни језик. Поласком у предшколску установу, ова деца почињу да схватају да

нису глува као њихови родитељи, и да се њихова искуства у одрастању разликују

од искустава чујуће деце, родитеља уредног слуха.

Children of deaf adults create their identity within the community of the Deaf which their parents belong to and within the community of normal hearing persons. The acronym “CODAs” is used for Children of Deaf Adults. In the community of the Deaf, these children are identified with terms-signs “hearing, mum, dad, deaf” within sign language. The main aim of the study is to point to the specificities of the identity development of children of deaf parents and the challenges they are faced with in communication through the review of the available literature. The methods of analysis of the relevant available literature have been applied. Children grow up in unique circumstances in which they are constantly exposed to two culturally, socially and linguistically different communities, of the Deaf and of the normal hearing persons. Limited communication, confusion in relationships and the roles between a parent and a child, mediation in translation, unwanted responsibility and uncertainty in terms of personal identity may lead to frustration. Various factors affect the identity of children of deaf adults. Parents frequently do not understand that their children are bilingual and bicultural. Children who can hear believe they are deaf because they use sign language in the family. Upon entering a preschool institution, these children begin to understand that they are not deaf like their parents and that their experiences in growing up differ from normal hearing children of parents with normal hearing.
