Upotreba mobilnih telefona kod osoba sa intelektualnom ometenošću

Abstract

Најчешће употребљавано средство информационо-комуникационих технологија (ИКТ) за свакодневну комуникацију свих особа широм света је мобилни телефон. Бројна сазнања потврђују присутну проблематичну употребу мобилног телефона и интернета. С озбиром на то да употреба мобилних телефона и интернета међу младим и одраслим особама, укључујући и особе са интелектуалном ометеношћу (ИО), није довољно истражена, сматрали смо да је неопходно стећи сазнања о карактеристикама употребе поменутих ИКТ средстава у нашем окружењу. Истраживање је спроведено са циљем да се утврде обрасци (коришћења мобилног телефона и интернета међу младим и одраслим особама са лаком интелектуалном ометеношћу (ЛИО) и да се испита однос између психолошких карактеристика особе са ЛИО и проблематичне употребе мобилног телефона и интернета. У истраживању је учествовало 80 испитаника, старости од 20 до 46 година. Целокупан узорак је подељен на два подузорка, испитанике са ЛИО и испитанике типичне популације (ТП). Инструменти који су коришћени у истраживању су: Скала процене проблема употребе мобилних телефона (Mobile Phone Problem Use Scale − MPPUS, Bianchi & Phillips, 2005), Скала за процену проблематичне употребе мобилних телефона (Problematic Use Of Mobile Phones − PUMP, Merlo, Stone & Bibbey, 2013), Тест зависности од интернета (Internet Addiction Test − IAT, Young, 1998), Розенбергова скала самопоштовања (Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale − RSS, Rosenberg, 1965), Скала процене усамљености и социјалног незадовољства (Loneliness and Social Dissatisfaction Scale − LSDS, Asher, Hymel & Renshaw, 1984) и Модификована скала повезаности са родитељима и пријатељима (The Modified Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment − IPPA, Raja, Mc Gee & Stanton, 1992). Добијени резултати су показали да је обим употребе мобилног телефона и интернета код испитаника са ЛИО значајно мањи у односу на испитанике ТП. Статистички значајне разлике нису установљене у сврси коришћења мобилног телефона и временске употребе интернета код испитаника са ЛИО и ТП. Испитаници са ЛИО значајно чешће испољавају навике коришћења мобилног телефона које их ометају у свакодневним активностима. Нижи ниво самопоштовања код особа са ЛИО повезан је са проблематичном употребом мобилног телефона и интернета. Проблематична употреба мобилног телефона и интернета, међу особама са ЛИО, повезана је са вишим нивоом усамљености. Такође, установљено је да је нижи ниво повезаности са родитељима код особа са ЛИО повезан са обрасцима проблематичне употребе мобилног телефона и интернета. Бољем разумевању употребе ИКТ код особа са ИО, у нашем окружењу, допринело би разматрање других потенцијалних фактора који, у најширем смислу, могу утицати на квалитет употребе ИКТ у овој популацији.

The most frequently used informational-communication technology (ICT) for everyday communication worldwide is the mobile phone. Multiple studies have confirmed the evident, problematic use of the mobile phone and Internet. Due to a lack of research on the topic of use of mobile phones and internet by youth and adults, including persons with an intellectual disability (ID), it is necessary to discover more about the patterns of use of the aforementioned ICTs. The research was conducted with the goal of confirming characteristics of use of mobile phones and internet among youth and adults with mild intellectual disability (MID) and to test the correlation between the psychological characteristics of individuals with MID and the use of mobile phones and Internet. Eighty subjects participated in the study, ages 20 to 46. The entire sample was divided into two groups or sub-samples, individuals with MID and tipicaly developing participants. Instruments used in conducting the research are the following: Mobile Phone Problem Use Scale – MPPUS (Bianchi & Phillips, 2005), Problematic Use Of Mobile Phones – PUMP (Merlo, Stone & Bibbey, 2013), Internet Addiction Test – IAT (Young, 1998), Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale – RSS (Rosenberg, 1965), Loneliness and Social Dissatisfaction Scale – LSDS (Asher, Hymel & Renshaw, 1984) and The Modified Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment – IPPA (Raja, Mc Gee & Stanton, 1992). The results indicate that the scope of use of mobile phones and Internet within subjects with MID is more limited compared to subjects of the general population. Statistically significant differences were not determined in the reasons for using a mobile phone or the time spent using the internet, between the subjects with MID and those of the general population. Subjects with MID showed habits of using a mobile phone which interfered with their daily activities, noticeably more often than subjects of the general population. A lower level of self-еsteem within individuals with MID has been linked with the use of the problematic mobile phone and Internet. The problematic patterns of use of mobile phones and Internet within individuals with MID, has been linked to a heightened level of loneliness. In addition, it has been determined that a weaker connection with their parents has been linked to the problematic characteristics of use of mobile phones and Internet for individuals with MID. A better understanding of the use of ICTs by individuals with ID in our society, would contribute to the consideration of other potential factors, which in the broadest sense could influence the quality use of ICTs in this population.
