Teaching is based on the collaboration between teachers and students, that is, those who teach and those who learn. This cooperation is realized as their mutual interaction and communication, so teaching is basically a communication process. The aim of the research was to determine the experience of deaf and hard of hearing students with regard to communication in teaching, considering the individual characteristics of students, age, gender, degree of hearing impairment, type of amplification and communication model. The study involved twenty-five students from three high schools for the deaf and hard of hearing in the Republic of Serbia. The study used a survey technique for the purpose of which the scale Indicators for preventing / fostering teacher-student conflict was used. The results indicate that students have a predominantly positive experience of communicating with teachers, which is confirmed by the average values obtained on conflict prevention claims (M = 24.36), as well as the average values of the responses received on claims related to conflict enhancement (M = 12.24).sr
