Barijere prilikom kretanja u socijalnoj sredini iz perspektive osoba sa intelektualnom ometenošću

Abstract

Istraživanja pokazuju da se osobe sa intelektualnom ometenošću (IO) suočavaju sa brojnim teškoćama prilikom kretanja u socijalnoj sredini. U zavisnosti od toga da li se ome- tenost tumači u okviru medicinskog ili socijalnog modela, pro- blemi sa kojima se susreću osobe s IO u oblasti kretanja u užem i širem okruženju mogu se posmatrati kao direktna posledica kognitivnog deficita, ili kao posledica fizičkih i socijalnih barijera koje ovim osobama otežavaju samostalno kretanje. Cilj istraživanja je bio da se utvrdi prisustvo i priroda prepre- ka sa kojima se osobe s IO susreću prilikom kretanja u zajednici, kao i utvrđivanje uzroka tih prepreka iz perspektive osoba s IO. Uzorak je obuhvatio 15 učenika s IO, srednjoškolskog uzrasta, oba pola. Podaci su prikupljeni putem individualnih intervjua sa ispitanicima. Rezultati istraživanja pokazuju da ispitani- ci ne uočavaju teškoće prilikom kretanja u svom neposrednom okruženju i korišćenja prevoznih sredstava, a probleme prili- kom kretanja u široj lokalnoj zajednici percipiraju kao posle- dicu barijera u socijalnoj sredini (poput dostupnosti prevoza, finansijskih problema i ponašanja drugih ljudi). Sposobnost oso- ba s IO da ukažu na moguće faktore rizika u domenu kretanja u zajednici ima važne implikacije u pogledu uključivanja ovih oso- ba u proces definisanja strategija usmerenih ka njihovom samo- stalnom funkcionisanju i smanjenju socijalne izolacije.

Research shows that people with intellectual disabilities (IO) face numerous difficulties when moving in a social environment. Depending on whether the disability is interpreted in the context of medical or social model, the problems faced by people with IO in the area of movement in the narrow and wider environment can be seen as a direct consequence of cognitive deficits, or as a result of physical and social barriers that hinder the independent movement of these persons. The aim of this study was to determine the presence and nature of obstacles that people with IO face when moving in the community, as well as to identify the causes of these obstacles from the perspective of people with IO. The sample included 15 high school students with IO, both genders. Data were collected through individual interviews with respondents. The survey results show that respondents do not perceive difficulties in movement in its immediate environment and the use of means of transport, and problems with movement in the wider community they perceived as a result of barriers in the social environment (such as availability of transport, financial problems and other people’s behavior). The ability of people with IO to draw attention to possible risk factors in the domain of movement in the community has important implications regarding the inclusion of these persons in the process of defining strategies directed towards their independent functioning and reducing social isolation.
