dc.description.abstractČitati znači dešifrovati simbole pisanog govora, izgovoriti ih ili ih zadržati u pamćenju, pošto smo shvatili poruku koju oni prenose. Sadržinska i tehnička strana čitanja su nerazdvojne. Tehnika čitanja podrazumeva povezivanje slova u reči, reči u rečenice, tečno čitanje bez prekidanja, odgovarajuću brzinu, postojanje naglasnih jačina i melodijskih kretanja, kao i ortografskih pravila.
Reading means deciphering symbols of written speech, pronouncing or memorizing them, after we have understood the message they convey. Contentrelated and technical sides of reading are inseparable. Reading technique means connecting letters into words, words into sentences, fluent reading without interruption, adequate speed, the existence of accentual intensities and melodic movements as well as orthographic rules. The difficulties with the deaf and hard of hearing lie in the fact that they simultaneously learn speech, language and reading. The aim of the research was to examine the connection between the age and the degree of hearing impairment, and the number and types of mistakes in reading with deaf and hard of hearing students. We used a segment of the Three-dimensional Reading Test (S. Vladisavljević) in this research. The students read the text entitled Just One Snowy Day (Samo jedan snežni dan). The research was carried out on a sample of 83 third to eight grade deaf and hard of hearing students. Quantitative and qualitative analysis of the obtained results was carried out. The obtained results indicate that deaf and hard of hearing students with hearing aids and cochlear implants make approximately the same number of mistakes when reading a text (statistically significant differences between them were not observed). As the age goes up, the number of mistakes declines, while the connection between the use of sign language and dactylology and the types and number of mistakes made in reading was also observed.
