Beyond the society boundaries: Marginalization, social excommunication and marginal groups

Abstract

The article offers the definition of marginalization, social excommunication marginal social groups and social vulnerability. It also initiates the issues of determination of key characteristics and aspects of marginalization and social excommunication, as well as the issue of criteria which could be used to determine types of marginal and socially vulnerable groups. The special emphasis is put on the analysis of the causes of marginalization and social excommunication. Towards its end the article offers the definition of the goal-subject and theoretical bases of the sociology of marginal groups as a scientific discipline which is lectured at the university level.
