AB - Introduction. Physical activities are very important for physical and mental health and for the quality of life itself. Engaging in them leads to a higher level of participation in community life at any age. However, regardless of their beneficial effects, people with disabilities most often do not meet the minimum physical engagement recommended for a healthy lifestyle. Objective. The aim of the paper was to detect factors related to physical activity of young people with visual impairments. Methods. The sample included 45 adults of both genders (53% of females), ages 18 to 39 (M = 28.78, SD = 7.22), with no additional difficulties that could limit exercising. Physical activity barrier scale for persons who are blind and visually impaired was used. Results. The results showed that visually impaired participants most often faced unfavorable environmental factors when engaging in physical activity, as well as barriers arising from the physical environment. This is followed by personal factors, where psychological barriers were expressed. Factors related to visual impairment were in the third place. The variables important for participation of young adults in physical activities were gender and independent movement, while the degree of visual impairment and working status were not important. Compared to males, females experienced four out of eight examined barriers significantly more often, while persons with impaired vision who do not move independently experienced a significantly higher frequency of the three types of tested barriers. Conclusion. The research findings imply that in order to increase the level of participation of people with visual impairments in physical activities, society must first strive for greater adaptation to the physical and social environment.
Korišćena je Skala za ispitivanje barijera u upražnjavanju fizičkih aktivnosti osoba sa oštećenjem vida (Physical Activity Barrier Scale for Persons Who are Blind or Visually Impaired).

AB - The aim of the research was to determine the influence of sprint performance and explosive strength on ball throwing velocity in Goalball. The sample of participants consisted of 12 nationally and internationally ranked Goalball players, with an average age of (25.17±8.03). To evaluate sprint performance, the 5 and 10 meter sprint tests were used. To evaluate explosive strength, the standing long jump and seated medicine ball throw were used. The results of the regression analysis have indicated that the entire system of applied variables is statistically significantly connected and influences ball throwing velocity. At the same time, we evaluated the statistically significant influence of the seated medicine ball throw variable. We can conclude that as part of the fitness training of Goalball players, it is necessary to work on improving sprint performance and explosive strength due to the ability of rapid transition of the players from the defensive phase to the attack phase. It is especially important to develop upper-body explosive strength in order to increase ball throwing velocity and create the possibility for greater effectiveness of Goalball players.

AB - The aim of this study was to determine the differences in the motor abilities between students with different levels of visual acuity. The research included 51 participants of both genders, aged 7 to 12, divided in to a group of typically developed children, with normal visual acuity (n=24) and a group of students with visual impairment (n=27). The group of students with visual impairment (VI) was divided into two groups: students with moderate visual impairment (MVI) and students with severe visual impairment (SVI). To evaluate their motor abilities we used eight tests from the Eurofit battery of tests. Typically developed children scored statistically significant higher results on the Flamingo Balance test, Plate Tapping, Sit-and-Reach, Sit-Ups in 30s the 10 x 5m, Shuttle Run and the 20m endurance shuttle run. Between two groups of participants with VI, statistically significant differences were determined only for the Flamingo Balance test for the evaluation of static balance, in favor of students with SVI. The assumption is that students with SVI rely on information obtained by peripheral sections of the retina more so than students with MVI. It is necessary to carry our further studies that would include a greater number of participants and a greater number of tests for the evaluation of balance, maintaining posture and walking so that the obtained hypotheses could further be confirmed.
Deca tipičnog razvoja su imala statistički bolje rezultate u testovima Flamingo Balance test, Plate Tapping, Sit-and-Reach, Sit-Ups in 30s, 10 x 5m, Shuttle Run i 20m endurance shuttle run.
