Family as an indicator of achievement of deaf and hard of hearing students

AB  - The formation of an educated and a successful personality depends on a number of pedagogical, sociological and social
factors. In the process of socialization and education, both contemporary school system and family share responsibility
and make an important role in the success, not only of individuals, but of society as a whole. The influence of the family
environment on achievement can be seen from different aspects. The aim of the research was to examine the connection
between achievement of deaf and hard-of-hearing students and factors of the family environment seen through their socioeconomic
status. The survey sample comprised 59 parents of deaf and hard-of-hearing children attending the school
for deaf and hard-of-hearing students in the territory of the Republic of Serbia. In the process of relevant literature
research and determining the theoretical facts relevant for the research problem, the method of theoretical analysis and
synthesis was used. In relation to research techniques, survey and content analysis were used. Family questionnaire
was used to analyze the link between the socioeconomic status of families and achievement of deaf and hard-of-hearing
students. The results have shown that there was no correlation between the socioeconomic status of the families and the
school achievements of deaf and hard-of-hearing students.

AB  - Unapređivanje obrazovnih mogućnosti gluvih i nagluvih učenika istvaranje podsticajnih uslova za ostvarivanje školskog postignuća jedan je odglavnih zadataka savremene škole. Cilj istraživanja je bio ispitatiindikatore školskog postignuća gluvih i nagluvih učenika osnovnoškolskoguzrasta. Posebni ciljevi su bili ispitati povezanost društveno-ekonomskih faktora i školskog postignuća gluvih i nagluvih učenika,ispitati povezanost porodične sredine i školskog postignuća gluvih inagluvih učenika, ispitati povezanost faktora školske sredine i školskogpostignuća gluvih i nagluvih učenika, ispitati povezanost faktora školskesredine, i školskog postignuća gluvih i nagluvih učenika, ispitatipovezanost sposobnosti i osobina gluvih i nagluvih učenika i školskogpostignuća.Uzorak je činilo 193 ispitanika podeljenih u tri poduzorka i to:poduzorak roditelja (N-56), poduzorak nastavnika (N-75) iz pet škola zagluvu i nagluvu decu sa teritorije Republike Srbije i poduzorak učenika (N-59) koji pohađaju školu za gluve i nagluve učenike na teritoriji RepublikeSrbije.Instrumeniti koji su korišćeni u istraživanju: Upitnik zanastavnike, Upitnik o opštoj atmosferi u školama, Upitnik za procenuponašanja deteta u školi.,Upitnika o uslovima porodičnog života i radaučenika i uzajamnom odnosima roditelja i dece u porodici, Evidentna listaza snimanje i skala procene artikulacije nastavnog časa, Upitnik opotrebama i mogućnostima efikasnijeg obrazovanja i stručnog usavršavanjanastavnika, Protokol za snimanje, analiziranje i procenjivanje nastavnogčasa, Upitnik za roditelje, Upitnika za procenu ponašanja i osobina deteta,Upitnik o prosocijalnom ponašanju deteta, Upitnik o uključenostiporodice u školske aktivnosti i rad na domaćim zadacima, Ček listapoželjnih osobina, stavova i postupaka u saradnji sa roditeljima.Istraživanje je realizovano u školama za gluve i nagluve učenike nateritoriji Republike Srbije u periodu školske 2014/15.godine i početkomškolske 2015/2016.godine.Dobijeni rezultati su sistematizovani i prema postavljenimciljevima i zadacima prikazani u pet grupa. Svi dobijeni rezultati sudiskutovani i na osnovu toga su izvedeni zaključci da postoji delimičnapovezanost društveno-ekonomskih, porodičnih, školskih i ličnih faktorai školskog postignuća gluvih i nagluvih učenika. Nije utvrđena povezanostorganizacije života u domovima-internatima i školskog postignuća.
AB  - Improving educational opportunities for deaf and hard of hearing studentsand the creation of stimulating conditions for the exercise of academic achievementis one of the main tasks of modern school. The aim of the research was to examineindicators of academic achievement of deaf and hard of hearing primary schoolstudents. Specific objectives were to examine the relationship between socioeconomicfactors and academic achievement of deaf and hard of hearing students,examine the relationship between family environment and academic achievement ofdeaf and hard of hearing students, examine the relationship between factors ofschool environment and academic achievement of deaf and hard of hearing students,examine the relationship between factors of school environment, and schoolachievement of deaf and hard of hearing students, examine the relationship betweenskills and characteristics of deaf and hard of hearing students and academicachievement.The sample consisted of 193 subjects divided into two regions, namely: asubsample of parents (N-56), the sub-sample of teachers (N-75) from the fiveschools for the deaf and hard of hearing children from the territory of the Republicof Serbia and the sub-sample of students (N-59) who attend school for the deaf andhard of hearing students in the Republic of Serbia.Research instruments that were used: Questionnaire for teachers,questionnaire about the general atmosphere in the schools, the questionnaire forassessing the behavior of the child in school., Questionnaire on conditions of familylife and work of students and the mutual relationships of parents and children in thefamily, Evident sheet for recording and rock estimates articulation of teaching hour,Questionnaire on the needs and possibilities of more efficient education and trainingof teachers, The Protocol for recording, analyzing and evaluating the class,Questionnaire for parents questionnaire for assessing the behavior andcharacteristics of the child, Questionnaire about the child's prosocial behavior,Questionnaire on the involvement of families in school activities and work onhomework, Checklist for desirable traits, attitudes and practices in cooperation withparents.Research was done in schools for deaf and hard of hearing students in theRepublic of Serbia in the period of 2014/15 school year and the beginning of theschool in 2015/2016. The results are analyzed and according to the set objectivesand tasks presented in five groups. All the obtained results are discussed and on thebasis of the conclusions that there is a partial correlation of socio-economic, family,school and personal factors and academic achievement of deaf and hard of hearingstudents. There was no correlation between the organization of life in the boardingand academic achievement.

Behaviour of deaf and hard of hearing students at school and school achievement

AB  - The school has a powerful influence on the young, particularly the school which guarantees safety and respecting individual potentials of students with efficiently planned and programmed contents and activities and complete teaching stuff with positive pedagogical skills. Pedagogues point at the significant number of factors which contribute to both success and failure of deaf and hard of hearing students at school. The aim of the research was to study connectivity between school achievement and behaviour of deaf and hard of hearing students at school. In the paper, we showed results of connectivity of school achievements of deaf and hard of hearing students during classes, breaks and towards teachers. The sample included 72 special education teachers who realise pedagogical-teaching process at special schools for deaf and hard of hearing students in the whole territory of the Republic of Serbia. The method of theoretical analysis and synthesis in studying relevant literature and determination fo theoretic facts significant for the issue of the reaesshr were used. Quetionarir for teachers was used for analysis of estimation of the deaf and hard of hearing students. Results show that there is connectivity between behaifour at school and school achievement of the deaf and hard of hearing students.
AB  - Škola ima moćan uticaj na mlade, posebno škola koja garantuje bezbednost i uvažavanje individualnih potencijala učenika uz efikasno isplanirane i programirane sadržaje i aktivnosti, kao i kompetentan nastavni kadar koji poseduje pozitivne pedagoške veštine. Pedagozi ukazuju na značajan broj faktora koji doprinose uspehu, ali i neuspehu u školi. Cilj istraživanja je bio da se ispita povezanost školskog postignuća i ponašanja gluvih i nagluvih učenika u školi. U radu su prikazani rezultati povezanosti školskog uspeha i ponašanja gluvih i nagluvih učenika na času, odmoru i prema nastavniku. Uzorak je činilo 72 nastavnika defektologa koji realizuju vaspitno obrazovni rad u školama za gluve i nagluve učenike na teritoriji Republike Srbije. Za potrebe istraživanja korišćena je metoda teorijske analize i sinteze u proučavanju relevantne literature i utvrđivanje teorijskih činjenica bitnih za problem istraživanja. U odnosu na tehnike istraživanja korišćeno je anketiranje i analiza sadržaja. Za analizu procene ponašanja gluvih i nagluvih učenika u školi i školskog postignuća korišćen je upitnik za nastavnike. Rezultati pokazuju da postoji povezanost između ponašanja u školi i školskog uspeha gluvih i nagluvih učenika.

Results show that there is connectivity between behaifour at school and school achievement of the deaf and hard of hearing students., Škola ima moćan uticaj na mlade, posebno škola koja garantuje bezbednost i uvažavanje individualnih potencijala učenika uz efikasno isplanirane i programirane sadržaje i aktivnosti, kao i kompetentan nastavni kadar koji poseduje pozitivne pedagoške veštine. Pedagozi ukazuju na značajan broj faktora koji doprinose uspehu, ali i neuspehu u školi. Cilj istraživanja je bio da se ispita povezanost školskog postignuća i ponašanja gluvih i nagluvih učenika u školi. U radu su prikazani rezultati povezanosti školskog uspeha i ponašanja gluvih i nagluvih učenika na času, odmoru i prema nastavniku. Uzorak je činilo 72 nastavnika defektologa koji realizuju vaspitno obrazovni rad u školama za gluve i nagluve učenike na teritoriji Republike Srbije. Za potrebe istraživanja korišćena je metoda teorijske analize i sinteze u proučavanju relevantne literature i utvrđivanje teorijskih činjenica bitnih za problem istraživanja. U odnosu na tehnike istraživanja korišćeno je anketiranje i analiza sadržaja. Za analizu procene ponašanja gluvih i nagluvih učenika u školi i školskog postignuća korišćen je upitnik za nastavnike. Rezultati pokazuju da postoji povezanost između ponašanja u školi i školskog uspeha gluvih i nagluvih učenika.",

AB  - U radu je dat pregled značajnijih istraživanja školskog uspeha u redovnoj i populaciji gluvih i nagluvih učenika realizovanih od polovine 20-og veka do danas. Predstavljeni su rezultati i zaključci do kojih su došli autori ispitivanjem uticaja različitih činilaca na školski uspeh. Istraživači su se oslanjali na različite varijable, poput vaspitnog stila, porodičnih uslova, osobina ličnosti, odvojenost učenika od roditelja i slično. Dat pregled rezultata istraživanja školskog uspeha čujuće kao i dece oštećenog sluha ukazuje na trajnost široke lepeze varijabli kroz vreme i upućuje na traganje za novim, do sada nedovoljno istraženim indikatorima školskog uspeha.
AB  - The paper gives a brief overview of the organization of classes in
regular schools and schools for the deaf and hard of hearing students.
The organization of teaching in schools for the deaf and hard of hearing
students is appropriate to their developmental and cognitive needs. With
an overview of the organization of classes in regular schools and schools for
the deaf and hard of hearing children it is possible to look at the two sides
of these two processes that are only superficially similar- opportunities for
overlap and opportunities for a range of organizational innovations that
include the organization of the class, the application of certain forms of
teaching, forms of work (individual, work in pairs and others), teaching
methods, the stages in the organization of teaching - of acquiring new
knowledge, through exercise and repetition to the tests.

AB  - Vaspitni stil roditelja je od posebnog značaja za kompletan psihofi- zički i socioemocionalan razvoj deteta. Svesnost, doslednost, strpljenje, upornost, sistematičnost su u osnovi pristupa punog ljubavi i razume- vanja prema detetu. Pred porodicom deteta sa oštećenim sluhom se nalaze složeni konteksti koji se prvenstveno odnose na izbor vaspitnih postu- paka koji će biti korisni i prikladni za podsticanje celokupnog razvoja deteta. Osim toga, potrebe savremenog, modernog društva stvaraju situ- aciju porodičnih odnosa i vaspitne uloge porodice koji se kvalitativno menjaju, od tradicionalnih ka modernim.
AB  - Parental style is of particular importance for a complete physical
and mental development of the child and socioemocionalan. Awareness,
consistency, patience, perseverance, systematic approaches are basically full
of love and understanding to the child. To the family of a child with hearing
loss are complex contexts that is primarly related to the choice of corrective
actions that will be useful and appropriate for promoting the overall
development of the child. In addition, the needs of contemporary, modern
society creates a situation of family relationships and the educational role
of families that are qualitatively change from traditional to modern.

AB  - This paper gives an overview of major research school success in a regular and a population of deaf and hard of hearing students realized than half of the 20th century to the present. Presents the results and conclusions of the authors came to examining the impact of various factors on school success. The researchers relied on different variables, such as educational style, family conditions, personality traits, separation from parents and others. An overview of the research results of school success as normal hearing and hearing impaired children indicates the durability of a wide range of variables over time and leads us to search for new, so far unexplored indicators of school success.
AB  - U radu je dat kratak osvrt na specifičnosti surdološke i organizacije redovne nastave. Organizacija nastave u školama za gluve i nagluve učenike primerena je njihovim razvojnim i saznajnim potrebama. Sagledavanjem karakteristika surdološke i organizacije redovne nastave moguće je pronalaziti s jedne strane polja uspešnog ukrštanja ova dva naizgled slična ali suštinski različita vaspitno - obrazovna sistema, a sa druge nove puteve za niz organizacijskih inovacija koje obuhvataju organizaciju nastavnog časa, primenu određenih oblika nastave, oblika rada (idividualni, tandem i drugi), nastavne metode, etape u organizaciji nastave - od sticanja novih znanja, preko vežbanja i ponavljanja do proveravanja.

AB  - Cooperative learning is one of the innovative models that contribute to mitigating the weaknesses of traditional teaching, through changing the position of students and teachers during the teaching process. Based on the philosophical humanistic orientation, a principle of individualism, as well as the belief that adequate social relations contribute to the efficient acquisition of knowledge, cooperative learning promotes the development of cooperative qualities of a personality and helps creating a supportive environment, which positively affects the outcomes of teaching. This study presents the results of a research on the attitudes of surdologists towards the implementation of innovative models of teaching, especially cooperative learning, with the suggestions for further innovations of teaching. The sample consisted of 102 surdologists, who are implementing educational activities in schools for the deaf and hard of hearing children. For research purposes, a special questionnaire was designed. In addition to general information about the respondent, it contained a list of questions that were divided into three areas. The study presents the results from the third area, which is related to the application of innovative models of teaching, with special emphasis on the implementation of cooperative learning. The results showed that the surdologists exhibit a willingness to implement innovative models of teaching and consider that application of cooperative learning methods has a positive effect on the outcomes of the educational process.
AB  - Kooperativno učenje je jedan od inovativnih modela koji menjajući položaj učenika i nastavnika tokom nastavnog procesa doprinosi ublažavanju slabosti tradicionalne nastave. Zasnovano na filozofskoj orijentaciji humanista, principu individualizacije, kao i uverenju da adekvatni socijalni odnosi doprinose efikasnijem usvajanju znanja, kooperativno učenje podstiče razvoj kooperativnih kvaliteta ličnosti i doprinosi stvaranju povoljne emocionalne klime čime pozitivno utiče i na ishode nastavnog rada. U radu su prikazani rezultati istraživanja odnosa surdologa prema primeni inovativnih modela u nastavnom radu, pre svega kooperativnom učenju, sa predlozima za dalje inoviranje nastavnog procesa. Uzorak je činilo 102 surdologa koji realizuju vaspitno-obrazovne aktivnosti u školama za gluvu i nagluvu decu. Za potrebe istraživanja dizajniran je poseban upitnik koji je pored opštih podataka o ispitaniku, sadržao listu pitanja koja su podeljena u tri oblasti.U radu je prikazan deo rezultate iz treće oblasti koja se odnosila na primenu inovativnih modela u nastavnom radu sa posebnim akcentom na primenu kooperativnog učenja.Dobijeni rezultati su pokazali da kod surdologa postoji spremnost za primenu inovativnih modela nastavnog rada i da smatraju da primena metoda kooperativnog učenja pozitivno utiče na ishode nastavnog procesa.
