AB - Introduction: The speech of laryngectomized patients can be rebuilt by developing
the esophageal speech skills or by applying the vocal prosthesis. Practice shows that the
best voice is achieved by appling the tracheoesophageal prosthesis.
The aim of this manuscript was to examine the acoustic and perceptive voice
characteristics of patients with esophageal speech and of patients with built in
tracheoesophageal prosthesis.
Methodology: The research is done on the sample of 48 examinees from 48 to
78 years old. In the research we used Computer laboratory of voice analysis. In data
processing we used the descriptive statistics methods. The differences between the
groups were determined by the t-test for large independent samples. Pirson’s correlation
coefficient was used to examine the correlation between two variables. To examine the
effect of independent variables on dependent one, we used the Multiple linear regression.
The results: Patients with esophageal speech had statistically significant higher values
of parameter A-Asthenia (1.21±1.13) comparing to tracheoesophageal patients (.60±.59),
while the patients with tracheoesophageal vocal prosthesis had significantly higher
values of MPT parameter (7.25±2.40) comparing to esophageal patients (2.82±.90),
as well as significantly higher values of WPM parameter (88.75±22.80) comparing to
esophageal patients (71.89±29.83).
Conclusion: The progress of science and technology brought the expansive
development of tracheoesophageal technique. That made the speech of laryngectomized
patients qualitatively better and therefore more applicable in speech rehabilitation. The
results of this research have also showed this.

AB - Objective. The aim of the study was to assess the effect of endolaryngeal phonomicrosurgery (EPM) and voice therapy in patients with vocal fold polyps using perceptual and acoustic analysis before and after both therapies. Methods. The acoustic tests and perceptual evaluation of voice were carried out on 41 female patients with vocal fold polyp before and after EPM and voice therapy. Both therapy strategies were performed. Used acoustic parameters were Jitter percent (Jitt), pitch perturbation quotient (PPQ), shimmer percent (Shim), amplitude perturbation quotient (APQ), fundamental frequency variation (vF0), noise-to-harmonic ratio (NHR), Voice Turbulence Index (VTI). For perceptual evaluation, GRB scale was used. Results. Results indicated higher values of investigated parameters in patients' group than in the control group (P lt 0.01). Good correlation between the perceptual hoarseness factors of GRB scale and objective acoustic voice parameters were observed. All analyzed acoustic parameters improved after the phonomicrosurgery and voice therapy and tend to approach to values of the control group. For Jitt percent, Shim percent, vF0, VTI, and NHR, there were statistically significant differences. Perceptual voice evaluation revealed statistically significantly (P lt 0.01) decreased rating of G (grade), R (rough) and B (breathy) after surgery and voice therapy. Conclusions. Our data indicated that both acoustic and perceptual characteristic of voice in patients with vocal polyps significantly improved after phonomicrosurgical and voice treatment.

AB - Introduction. Writing is a complex human ability and also a very complex form of language performance. The act of writing involves knowledge and skills of proper graphic design of letters. Disruption in acquiring writing skills means the term dysgraphia. Symptoms of dysgraphia are bad formatting letters, mixing letters, illegible handwriting and incorrect font size, unfinished and omitted words. Writing can be accessed through the fine motor and linguistic aspects. The focus of this study was to determine the fine motor aspects of writing. Our goal was to determine the occurrence of dysgraphia in young school children, based on the reviews of the maturity and the quality of handwriting. Methods. The evaluation of writing was performed by the scale for the assessment of the maturity of the manuscript and assessment scales handwriting dysgraphia. The survey covered 234 students of third and fourth grade of Sveti Sava Primary School and Veselin Masleša Primary School in Foča and 44 students who attend these schools branches in villages Miljevina and Brod. Handwriting samples were analyzed in three modalities (dictation, transcript, writing independently). On the basis of the obtained data maturity and quality of the manuscript were estimated. In the evaluation of the quality, manuscripts were classified into four categories: harmonious, discordant/hard to read, dysgraphic and extremely dysgraphic manuscript. Results. The results showed that 14.7 % of respondents had an infantile manuscript. Dysgraphia was identified in 12.2 % of respondents, while 8.3 % had a discordant manuscript. It was shown that dysgraphia was significantly more evident in boys than in girls. At the same time a significantly higher percentage of dysgraphia was established in respondents in rural than in urban areas. Conclusion. The research showed a significant influence of environment and gender on the occurrence of dysgraphia in young school children. The comparison of obtained results with other authors indicated an increasing number of developmental dysgraphia.
AB - Uvod. Pisanje predstavlja kompleksnu ljudsku sposobnost i ujedno nasjloženiji oblik jezičke delatnosti. Sam čin pisanja obuhvata znanje i veštinu pravilnog grafičkog oblikovanja slova.

Methods. AB - The aim of our study was to analyze institutional care and social welfare for people
with disabilities in Serbia. Data collection was performed using a special questionnaire
about present institutions, providers and users of social welfare services. Indicators
of evaluation were: capacity and structure of accommodation units, accessibility of
building, structure of users of services, accessibility of services, the number and types
of services and programs for users, transparency, structure of employees and their
permanent education.
The basic paradigm was that the effects of protection cannot be measured by the
number of people treated at certain territory, but the scope and quality of services
provided. The study included a total of 18 institutions of social protection (7 residential
institutions and 11 day care institutions). Structure of users of social welfare services
makes a total of 2 145 people with disabilities (out of which 1 757 (81,91%) in residential
institutions and 388 (18,09%) in the daily treatment institutions).
Social welfare institutions in Serbia are providing accommodation, food and
working-occupational treatment for people with disabilities. They are organized as day
care and residential institutions. The level and scope of social protection measures are
regulated by a special law, but not by the standards and norms of the profession. Basic
features of institutional care and protection of people with disabilities in the Republic of
Serbia are: the number and heterogeneity of the group, trying degree of disability service
users, systematization inconsistent with the needs and professional standards in this
area, a low level of qualification of service providers.

AB - Mucanje je kompleksan govorni poremećaj na čiju pojavu i razvoj utiče spoj genetskih,
neuroloških, psiholoških, socijalnih i lingvističkih činilaca.
odbacivanje) i socijalnog okruženja (stavovi, predrasude).
AB - Stuttering is complex speech disability, afected by association of genetic, neurological,
psychological, social and linguistic factors. Difficulty manifested at verbal level, as well as
following non verbal manifestation, frequently marked, provoke negative reactions of
interlocutors. Stuttering in child can become aggravated because of hard familly relations
(upbringing, domestic atmosphere), coeval relations (mock, rejection) and social
environment (attitude, prejudice).
Experts quote that speech disability can have harmful efects at self-perception,
specialy at self-respect. Therefore positive coeval relations toward child who stutter, has
important influence at his cognitive, social and language developmant, as well as quality of
his life in general. At school age children with stuttering, difficulties can appear during of
speech, reading, asking and answering, as well as seeking a teacher help, that is why they
offten avoid different speech classroom and outdoor activities. Because of that, other
children can get impression about them as shy or self-containd, and may avoid their
company. In this way, children with stuttering can become a target of mistreatment and
mockery, because their coevals see them as different according of their social attitude.
The goal of this research is the attitude evaluation of regular school students towards
their coevals with stuttering. The sample was made of 65 students of 5th and 8th grade from
elementary school. Students attitudes, obtained by a questionnaire specially made for needs
of this research were quantitatively and qualitatively analyzed and compared according to
gender, age and experience criteria.

AB - Problem detekcije, evidencije, praćenja i usmeravanja dece sa smetnjama u razvoju u
Republici Srpskoj je kompleksan i do sada nije ostvarena institucionalizovana i stručna povezanost
izmeu zdravstva, dečje zaštite, školovanja i socijalne zaštite. Ovi problemi su doveli
do: stagnacije u ranom otkrivanju dece ometene u razvoju a samim tim i kasnom uključivanju
Ministarstvo nauke i tehnologije Republike Srpske.
Zakon o socijalnoj zaštiti, Zakon o dečijoj zaštiti, Zakon o osnovnom obrazovanju i
vaspitanju. Zakon o zdravstvenoj zaštiti i Pravilnik o razvrstavanju lica sa smetnjama u fizičkom
i psihičkom razvoju.
Telesna oštećenja 1 (4,16%) i Poremećaj ponašanja 1 (4,16%).
AB - Problem of detection, keeping records, monitoring and guidance of children with
disabilities in Republika Srpska is complex. Institutionalized and professional relationship
between health, child welfare, education and social protection has not been established yet.
These problems have led to: stagnation in the early detection of disabilities in children and
therefore the late inclusion in the appropriate rehabilitation programs; low coverage of
children with pre-school and primary education as well as professional training and delays
in development of institutional network, which should involve institutions specialized in
dealing with disabled children.
We approached this problem through scientific research project “Detection,
Determination and Monitoring of Children with Disabilities in Republika Srpska”,
approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Republic of Serbia. The objectives of
this research are: detection of children with developmental disabilities, their recording,
and establishing of periodic monitoring. In order to finish the first objective of this
research, quality analysis of the current legislation in Republika Srpska, regarding
children with disabilities, was carried out. Those are: the Law on Social Protection, the
Law on Child Protection, the Law on Primary Education, Health Care Law and Regulation
regarding Classification of people with disabilities in the physical and mental development.
Grounded on processed data, in the municipality of Foca, we recorded 37 children with
disabilities with recorded opinion of expert committee. Out of those 37, eleven children
were located in two elementary schools. In addition to these children, in two regular
schools in Foca there are 24 children with disabilities, but without opinion of expert
committee. Those are the children with: impairment of voice, speech or language 12 (50%),
chronic disease 4 (16,66%), visual impairment 3 (12,50%), mild mental retardation 3
(12,50%), physical impairment 1 (4,16%) and behavioral disorders 1 (4,16%).

AB - Hereditary language disorders have been known since ancient times. Long before the development of behavioral and molecular genetics as formal disciplines, careful observers of stuttering disorder identified its familial nature. Hereditary influences on speech and language disorders became clearer in the second part of the 19th century, when scientifically based research in this field started. Three main questions regarding understanding the nature of stuttering will be considered in this paper: a) the basic principles of behavioral genetics as a theoretical basis for understanding available research results on stuttering; b) review and discussion of methods and results of the most widespread studies on stuttering (family and twin studies); c) implications of the results of genetic studies in future research. Contemporary approaches to the study of the role of genetics in pathogenesis of stuttering will be considered by reviewing the most significant papers in this field from the 20th century, and describing behavioral genetic research starting with twin and family studies.

emisiona tomografija) i fMRI (funkcionalni magnetski imidžing - BOLD)
mozga, u identifikovanju kortikalnih područja uključenih u govorne funkcije.
Tehnike funkcionalnog neuroimidžinga omogućavaju vizuelizaciju
moždanih područja dok ispitanik obavlja određeni zadatak, pa spadaju u
tzv. aktivacione studije.
kognitivne komponente i to model Price, model Friederici, Hickok i Poeppel
model, Model Indefrey i Levelt i savremeni 6-to komponentni model.
komunikaciju rijetko prisutni u obje moždane hemisfere, a leksičko i gramatičko
znanje takođe pokazuje hemisfernu specijalizaciju.
AB - This paper aims at presenting the principles and possibilities of modern
technology in visualization of brain function - functional neuroimaging, especially PET (positron emission tomography) and fMRI (functional magnetic imaginging)
brain, in identifying cortical areas involved in speech function.
Functional neuroimaging techniques take vizuelisation of brain areas while
subject performs a certain task, then fall into activating brain studies. Neural
activity in brain regions involved in the execution of certain tasks will change and
thus changes and energy consumption as well as the flow of blood in the region,
which marks the activation or deactivation of neurons in this area.
We described the classic model of neurobiological basic of voice functions
known as Broce-Wernicke-Lichtheim model. Also we described, new, much more
detailed models of neurobiological basis of speech functions, including their
cognitive components: model Price, model Friederici, Hickok and Poeppel model,
Model Indefrey and Levelt and modern 6-component model.
We shown some recent results of recent research of visualization of cortical areas
related to speech function.
Also we shown results of research in specialization or hemisferic-domination
of speech functions, since the processes involved in oral communication is rarely
present in both brain hemispheric, and lexical and grammatical knowledge also

abstract = "U radu su prikazani principi i savremene mogućnosti tehnika vizuelizacije
moždanih funkcija – funkcionalnog neuroimidžinga, prvenstveno PET (pozitron
emisiona tomografija) i fMRI (funkcionalni magnetski imidžing - BOLD)
mozga, u identifikovanju kortikalnih područja uključenih u govorne funkcije.
Tehnike funkcionalnog neuroimidžinga omogućavaju vizuelizaciju
moždanih područja dok ispitanik obavlja određeni zadatak, pa spadaju u
tzv. aktivacione studije.
kognitivne komponente i to model Price, model Friederici, Hickok i Poeppel
model, Model Indefrey i Levelt i savremeni 6-to komponentni model.
komunikaciju rijetko prisutni u obje moždane hemisfere, a leksičko i gramatičko
znanje takođe pokazuje hemisfernu specijalizaciju., This paper aims at presenting the principles and possibilities of modern
technology in visualization of brain function - functional neuroimaging, especially PET (positron emission tomography) and fMRI (functional magnetic imaginging)
brain, in identifying cortical areas involved in speech function.
Also we shown results of research in specialization or hemisferic-domination
of speech functions, since the processes involved in oral communication is rarely
present in both brain hemispheric, and lexical and grammatical knowledge also
shows hemisfernu specialization to.",
